MN Landscape Arboretum engagement session

Peter grew up practically next door to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, and it’s also where he proposed to Angela, so it was the sentimental favorite when it came time to choose a location for their engagement session. It was my dream come true! The new bright green leaves, the dreamy scent of lilacs, the snow-like cherry blossom trees, and Angela and Peter, cute and snuggly as can be! We had so much fun, we just kept playing till it was too dark to shoot any more. Thanks for a very fun evening, you guys!

Some (finally!) spring wedding fun at the Minneapolis sculpture garden

Amelia and Cary got so lucky on their big day last Saturday – a lovely day of sunshine peeking through between a cold & rainy Friday and a cold & rainier Sunday! But their day was beautiful, and so were they. These two are so comfortable together, and so in love – you can literally feel it in the way he can’t take his eyes off her sometimes. It was a joy to capture some of these intimate moments for them, both at our fun engagement session and the wedding. Amelia’s gregarious daughter was the maid of honor, and quite the scene stealer. :) Kudos to Rita Swanson of Premier Planning Services for a perfect day at the Minneapolis Woman’s Club – and check out the gorgeous flowers from Floral Logic!

Bet you can’t eat just one Lay’s…

…and not want more and more! Am I showing my age here, or just my thing for cheesy ad jingles?

In any case, that’s how I feel about Abby and Connor! I had sooo much fun photographing their retro chic wedding, that I asked them if they’d get dressed back up for round two! This time we went to… a parking lot, of course. Testing my theory that these two lovebirds would be adorable even if you put them in a tin can, we did some great images by the trailers. Thanks Abby and Connor for coming out to play with me!

I didn’t know we made the blog!! What a fun day that was! I want that first one in a big old frame…and the third one and the fifth one and the sixth one… <3

Minikahda Club wedding album

Ooh, how fun to relive Kate and Peter’s lovely June wedding on an overcast afternoon like today! Their album captures the light and airy beauty of their balcony ceremony and reception at Minikahda Club, one of my top 3 favorite wedding venues! I love the images of Kate getting ready with her girlfriends. You can just feel how excited they are for her! Here’s their cool plexiglass album cover; click on the thumbnails below to see the inside page spreads.

James J. Hill Library winter wedding

Chris and Jen’s wedding fell on one of the last snowy days of the year (fingers crossed!), and at some points it felt like they were in their own private snow globe!

Jen and Chris laugh together a LOT, as you will see, and they were so fun to photograph! And I loved how they incorporated in some of their favorite things – like Chris’s love of Art Deco architecture (check out their playful seating chart and coasters) and Jen’s passion for gardening. In a labor of love, she spent many hours hand-making ceramic plant stakes to use in her bouquet and to give as favors. And let’s not forget the adorable gardening boots she donned for our trek through the snow!

We took refuge at one of Jen’s favorite childhood places, the Como Conservatory, and later the James J. Hill Library provided a warm and intimate backdrop for their celebration with their closest friends and family. Congratulations, Jen and Chris, and thank you for letting me be part of your wonderful day!

Hi Jacki!!! So I was just stalking your website again and noticed that you photographed Melissa and Frank! Melissa’s sister Jesse and her husband Nate were at our wedding. Nate and Tyler were close friends in high school and I just thought it was such a small world that you photographing their wedding too. Stunning pictures. That family is gorgeous! :)

Anyways, that’s all I wanted to say. I was just baffled and excited so I thought I’d drop a note. Hope all is well.

Love,

Kim
